Moving HH data from physical SD card to HH memory

There are 2 primary ways to move the data from a physical storage card to the internal memory of a device (like the Intermec CS40 or Nautiz X3 both of which have enough internal memory to do so.)

 

1  Using Window Mobile Device Center on a desktop connected to the Handheld.

1. Connect the HH to the computer and establish the connection
2. Open the Browse the Contents of your Device
3. Open the main folder (not the Storage Card folder)
4. Create a new folder called Storage CardNEW
5. Drag and drop or copy and paste the contents of the Storage Card to the Storage CardNEW you created
6. Disconnect the HH from the computer
7. Physically take out the SD Card
8. Turn the unit back on (if you had to turn it off to remove the SD Card)
9. Reconnect the HH to the computer
10. Open the Browse the Contents of your Device
11. Find the Storage CardNEW folder and rename it to Storage Card
12. Reboot the handheld and start trying to use it as you did before

 

2  Moving the files from within the Handheld itself

1. Open File Explorer on the HH
2. Go up until you are in the My Device Folder
3. Hit Menu->New Folder
4. Call the new folder Storage CardNEW
5. Go into the Storage Card folder
6. Highlight the folder inside there that you need to move
7. tap and hold it until the menu option of Cut appears
8. Hit UP
9. Open the Storage CardNEW folder
10. Hit Menu
11. Scroll down until you see Edit->Paste
12. Do this for any other folders in the primary Storage Card folder
13. Physically take out the SD Card
14. Turn the unit back on (if you had to turn it off to remove the SD Card)
15. Open File Explorer
16. Find the Storage CardNEW folder and rename it to Storage Card
17. Reboot the handheld and start trying to use it as you did before
